Intake
Maryland Intake
The Intake Coordinator reviews, processes and interviews children and youth who are referred to our agency. The Intake Coordinator, along with other admissions team members, analyzes the needs of youth referred and the matching of their needs to our services and programs. Birth family relationships are also assessed, as it is our goal to keep children connected to their families whenever possible. The intake process also involves the identification of treatment foster families appropriate to meeting the needs of a given youth. Idealy, once identified, the foster family meets with the youth prior to placement and becomes familiar with the youth and his/her need. This allows the foster family and the youth to identify similarities and begin to establish a non-threatening relationship prior to placement. Martin Pollak has found that this pre-placement process is one of the primary reasons that our youth maintain stability in our foster homes. However, due to the existing needs in our communities or care many children and youth enter our programs via emergency placement. If you are interested in referring a child for placement, please contact:

Database Management The Training and Special Services Division tracks and monitors the movement of youth who are placed in a Martin Pollak Project foster home or program. The division tracks and monitors all placement changes including admissions, discharges, respites and changes of placement through our database management system and bi-monthly population sheet. The Division coordinates with all other Divisions of the Martin Pollak Project, Inc. in order to ensure that information on each youth in our care is accurate and timely.
